TecTecTec VPRO500 golf rangefinder reviews 2022 & Latest Guide
Range of the TecTecTec VPRO500
If you talk about the most important feature on a golf rangefinder, I guess that’ll be range. For me, it’s the make or break when I consider a particular rangefinder.
Talking about the range of the TecTecTec VPRO500, it’s not anything out of the world, but it’s enough for most of the golfers out there. Ow wait, did I forget to tell you the number?
My bad. This rangefinder has a range of 540 yards. As I said, it’s not the best out there, but it’s good enough unless you’re tiger woods.
But what’s attractive about this tool is its continuous scan mode. It can measure distance instantly, so it won’t make you wait long to see the number. And it shows the number both in ‘yards’ and ‘meters’ parameters, which is convenient for a concerned group of users.

How accurate is this?
I won’t prefer a rangefinder that can measure 1000 yards but gives a false reading. But that surely is not the case with the TecTecTec VPRO500.
The credit goes to Pin-Sensor Technology that this tool features. This technology doesn’t only help you to get fast readings, but also helps with super accuracy (over 5000 actuation +/- 1 yard).
But the job of this tech has not ended yet. It also helps the rangefinder to dodge obstacles between you and the target more efficiently. It reduces your likelihood of missing a hazard or flag and makes the rangefinder an excellent tool for measuring targets in wooded areas.
Users highly appreciate its capability to measure targets fast and accurately. It matches the performance of many other more expensive rangefinders, so this is worth appreciating.
What about View and Vision?
The TecTecTec VPRO500 features a through the lens display that shows distance and indicates battery percentage. The multilayered, ultra-clear optics are made of premium materials, and it’s easy to read. It also features 6x magnification.
However, though this vision gets the job done effectively, don’t expect the optics to match that of the Bushnell rangefinders. This is priced at a lower point than those, and the price tag well justifies this display.
Another point to note is that you might need a while to get used to this rangefinder, especially if you have shaky hands. You need quite steady hands to get the expected performance out of this tool.
How portable is this?
Hmm, very portable. This rangefinder is quite lightweight at 185g and compact, measuring 104 x 72 x 41 mm. So this is a small and lightweight thing in your hand, so you’re not supposed to have any problem while carrying it.
On top of that, I appreciate TecTecTec because of including the nice carrying pouch with the package. It’s a nice looking, protective, and sturdy carrying pouch with wrist strap. The pouch promotes protection, anti-lost, and portability all at the same time.
Is the TecTecTec VPRO500 Durable?
Yes. It is not virtually indestructible, but regular wear and tear that you expect to happen on a golf course, won’t do any harm to this tool.
The body is made of high-quality plastic that felt quite rigid and sturdy to me. It has thick rubber on the areas that are supposed to get in contact with the surface if it slips off your hand. This absorbs the shock and forwards the least energy onto the body.
Though I don’t recommend doing a drop-down test of it, I’m quite sure that it’ll pass if one is done. The minor scuffs and scrapes won’t do much harm to this solid body.
The VPRO500 is Water & Dust Resistant
Well, that’s really cool – something you don’t see in many expensive rangefinders as well. You’re likely to face minor rain on the golf course once in a while.
While you would have to tuck away any other rangefinder that is sensitive to water, the VPRO500 stays in the game with pride. A little bit of moisture also won’t be of any harm to this water-resistant rangefinder.
On top of that, it deals with dust quite well, too. Unless you put it in the sandstorm of a desert in Dubai, it’s likely to hold well. It’s good that TecTecTec included specialized cleaning cloth to get rid of any dirt.
Pros:
- Pin sensor technology.
- Accurate with the measurement.
- Great for using in woods.
- Decent range.
- Comprehensive display.
- Compact and lightweight.
Cons:
- Shaky hands won’t do.
- The range could be better, I guess.
- Sometime fog could get in the lenses.

How do rangefinders work?
Well, I’m not sure why golfers would be so interested in such a ‘science’ question, but since I was asked this question quite often, here’s the answer –
The Laser Golf Rangefinder emits a laser as you press the power button once to measure the distance of the object that you’re aiming to. The laser then hits the object and bounces back to the rangefinder.
A high-speed clock measures the time that it took for the laser to reach the target and come back. Since the laser is nothing but light, and we know the speed of it, the software can easily calculate the distance with that information.
What kind of battery should I buy for this rangefinder?
CR2-3V is the right type of batteries for this rangefinder. Remember that they’re not rechargeable, so have backup batteries with you if you want to carry out a more extended session.
Last Words on TecTecTec VPRO500 Reviews
We’re about, to sum up, our TecTecTec VPRO500 golf rangefinder reviews. For the bottom line, I can say that the TecTecTec VPRO500 is not the best golf rangefinder I have seen to date, but it’s definitely a good one nonetheless and a value-for-money product.
It has got its flaws, but at the same time, it has features that help to make your game better. The range could be better, and people with shaky hands will need time to get used to it.
But at the same time, the speed and accuracy, the sturdy body, features like water resistance make it a good deal. It’s not a fancy product; instead, it gets the job done quite well.
Compare that to how much less it costs than other rangefinders in its class, and you’ll find this a steal.
